The Task: Turning a 20-Year Reputation into Online Leads
Wayne Bradley has spent two decades growing his business through quality work and word-of-mouth. But online? His old business name, Wayne Bradley Property Services, didn’t show up in search results.
In the highly competitive Stroud window installation market, his lack of an online presence was a major barrier to growth. The vast majority of homeowners who started their search for services online failed to discover Wayne’s business. Wayne was losing out to newer, less experienced competitors simply because they had a Google map pin.
What’s the real challenge? Build a solid online identity that matched the company’s excellent reputation and helped it stand out among local and national competitors.
The Answer: A New Website and SEO with a Local Focus

It wasn’t just about making a website. It was about building an online system to get customers and turn them into sales.
The Approach: A Clear Brand & A Website Built to Convert
I focused on creating a dependable system that would attract local search traffic and turn visitors into paying customers. This is the straightforward approach I took:
1. Strategic Re-branding for Search Intent
Renaming Wayne Bradley Property Services to Stroud Valley Windows Ltd was a key marketing step. It quickly made it obvious to both customers and search engines what the business is all about (windows/glazing) and the area it serves (Stroud district).
2. Conversion-First Web Design (2007 to 2023)
I created the original site with a simple goal in mind: to gather enquiries. I created service pages using straightforward language, clear contact routes, and strong trust signals (highlighting “no pushy salespeople” and “no subcontractors”).
The 2023 Web Design Modernisation:
In 2023, the site got a thorough upgrade and a code update. The new site was rebuilt in GeneratePress, making it mobile responsive, super fast, and secured with HTTPS. This is not just about looking pretty; it’s about UX (User Experience) on mobile devices, where most local searches now happen.
“To be honest I’d go with whatever you recommend as it’s worked for the last 10 years.”

3. Local SEO: Winning the Clicks
When auditing the UK search landscape for this industry, the data showed a significant share of relevant searches triggering Google Map results and review features. Knowing this, I prioritised building and optimising a Google Business Profile. I based the optimisation on competitor research and advised Wayne on safe methods to encourage customer reviews. I also added an optimised description along with services, categories and photos of completed installations.
I backed this up by researching competitors and building local citations, auditing and ensuring the absolute consistency of the company’s Name, Address, and Phone number (NAP) and other details across key web directories. The goal? Make the business easy for Google to trust and easy for customers to choose.
Trust & Long-Term Support (Not a one-off build)
This project is built on a long-running relationship rooted in trust. Over the years, I’ve handled the unsexy but vital practical essentials that keep a local business online and secure: domain and hosting renewals in the early stages, prompt link repairs, and setting up strict security protocols (like Google Search Console access and multi-factor authentication).
The Results: From “Hard to Find” to Daily Enquiries
Wayne has always said the same thing: the website transformed his business from being a non-entity into his main source of steady, high-quality business leads.
